THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE MFDA
The Moroccan Flying Disc Association (MFDA)
The Moroccan Flying Disc Association was officially established on Safar 16, 1434 AH, corresponding to December 30, 2012, at the House of Local Associations and Initiatives, Hay Al Hassani, Marrakech, Morocco.
The idea of creating the first Moroccan association dedicated to disc sports originated with the founding president, Mr. Youness Benbrahim, who had envisioned this since early 2003. However, the official establishment took place nearly a decade later, in 2012.
The introduction of Mr. Benbrahim to the sport is credited to Mr. Achraf Kassami, who invited him between 2000 and 2001 to participate in frisbee games between Moroccan and American players held in Bab Jdid, Marrakech.
Thus, the Moroccan Flying Disc Association stands as the pioneer institution for the sport of flying disc in Morocco, both in terms of its origins and its official establishment.
